We spent quite a bit of time under the hood on a few servers during the month of October. A big chunk of that time was spent setting up a cluster for our client Scary Mommy. The cluster consists of two load balancers, two web servers, a database server and a logging server. Because when you get a few million hits a day log files can get pretty big.
The migration to the cluster worked well. The load balancers didn’t. That’s why there was some downtime which we feel terrible about. We are still working on getting the cluster up and running. It’s just making sure the load balancers are, well, “balancing.”
